Geography at John Spence
Geography explores the relationship between the earth and the people who inhabit it. It studies physical processes and human interactions at a range of scales from local to global.
Big geographical questions are a central part of the students learning:
- Why do people live where they do?
- How is the earth changing?
- Why are some countries richer than others?
- Why do people live in hazard zones?
- How can we reduce global warming?
Geography teaches students to enquire about the world around them and helps them to make sense of the earth and its processes.
