The Curriculum at John Spence
By law, all children in the UK between the ages of 5 and 16 follow the national curriculum, which means much of what our students study is fixed by legislation.
In Key Stage 3 all students follow the same curriculum, whilst in Key Stage 4 an element of choice is introduced via the Options System.
Additional curricular activities are available for some students in Key Stage 4 which extend the range of the normal school curriculum, whilst we make a wide range of extra-curricular activities available to all students.
Our curriculum is kept under constant review and is amended according to national legislation, new initiatives and the needs of our students.
